Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing

Location: New Brunswick, NJ

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Shifts Available: Multiple (day, evening, and overnight)

Overview

We’re seeking experienced, hands-on Maintenance Technicians to support production reliability, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance in a high-volume food manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates are mechanically and electrically skilled, detail-oriented, and thrive in fast-paced operations where uptime is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and packaging equipment.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues to minimize downtime.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through a CMMS system.

  • Follow all safety, GMP, and company policies while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Support installation, calibration, and testing of new machinery and components.

  • Participate in shift hand-offs and team meetings to ensure communication and continuity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing equipment repair.

  • Solid understanding of AC/DC motors, sensors, drives, and control systems.

  • Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley preferred).

  • Ability to use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

  • Familiarity with CMMS software and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts and occasional weekends or overtime as needed.
