Job Description
We are seeking a Transportation Dispatcher, who will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the transportation operations within our company. You will assist in managing the day-to-day transportation communications while also ensuring that deliveries are made safely, on time, and without damage.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in leading the team of 20+ CDL and Non-CDL drivers
• Address any challenges that may arise during the shift
• Maintain constant communication with drivers to ensure smooth operations
• Track shipments in real time, and report any delays or emergencies promptly to the relevant parties
• Utilize tools such as Descartes, Geotab, and the Microsoft Suite of products
• Prepare and send daily end-of-shift reports with timeliness and accuracy
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, fleet performance goals are being met, and operations are maintaining efficiency
• Ensure strict adherence and compliance to company policies, safety regulations, and DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations
• Oversee the Hours of Service (HOS) and Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) programs
• Perform other duties as assigned as business needs change
Qualifications
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must have at least 1 year of professional delivery driving experience.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others.
• Ability to remain professional and courteous in challenging situations.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Excellent verbal, written, and auditory communication skills.
• Must have experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and other MS office Suite Programs.
• Mush have experience with Telematics such as GeoTab
• Mush have experience with understanding Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations
Shift & Hours:
Sunday – Thursday 10:00pm - 6:00am
Compensation: Hourly rate ranging $ 19- $ 20, based on experience
