Director of Operations
Location: Major Florida market with strong airport access.
Travel: Approximately seventy five percent across multiple operating sites.
On Site Expectation: Regular presence inside a primary Florida distribution center.
Position Summary
A fast growing national distributor of automotive collision parts is seeking an accomplished, hands on Director of Operations to lead regional warehouse and distribution performance across a multi site network. This role will have full accountability for operational excellence, customer fulfillment, and financial performance across a region that is growing in scale, complexity, and geographic reach.
The ideal candidate is a data driven operator who knows how to lead large teams, improve processes, and elevate performance across diverse sites. This leader must understand the physical movement of goods, fleet execution, warehouse standards, and the metrics that drive accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership across a multi site network of distribution centers and cross dock locations.
Oversee daily execution of receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, returns, fleet operations, and delivery performance.
Implement and standardize operational workflows, KPIs, and reporting tools to drive accuracy and consistency across all sites.
Lead and mentor Operations Managers, Distribution Managers, and Supervisors, building a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Own key operational metrics including units picked, cost per unit, cycle count performance, inventory accuracy, unfound inventory percentage, and on time delivery rates.
Manage regional P and L, budgets, and operating costs to achieve performance and profitability targets.
Support layout optimization, racking strategies, material flow improvements, and equipment utilization.
Partner with Real Estate, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain to support new site readiness, system integrations, and process improvements.
Participate in the upcoming ERP implementation by supporting adoption, training, and alignment across all sites.
Build strong working relationships with internal and external partners including vendors, carriers, and third party logistics providers.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
Maintain a consistent presence in the field to evaluate performance, coach leaders, audit standards, and ensure alignment across all operating locations.
Support future regional expansion and scaling of site count, headcount, and operational complexity.
Qualifications
Fifteen or more years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations with ten or more years leading multi site teams.
Experience managing large distributed teams across multiple facilities with substantial travel.
Deep understanding of warehouse operations, fleet and delivery performance, inventory control, and cross dock environments.
Strong analytical skills with fluency in KPI reporting, operational dashboards, and data driven decision making.
Proficiency with ERP and WMS systems and advanced Excel or BI platforms such as Power BI.
Demonstrated ability to develop talent, build high performing teams, and drive accountability.
Solid financial acumen with experience managing P and L and budget performance.
Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to influence cross functional stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
